The Cause

Why it matters

I’m running in support of NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, whose work goes far beyond treating illness. They’re helping expand what care can look like by supporting people across physical and mental health and making care more accessible to the communities they serve.

Running for NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital feels deeply meaningful to me. They made this race possible, and I really connect with what they represent.

Their work sits at the intersection of physical and mental health in a way that feels especially important right now. From complex medical care to mental health services, they support people through some of the most vulnerable and uncertain moments of their lives. The moments that often don’t have clear answers or easy paths forward.

That resonates with me.

This season of my life has been one of uncertainty, and while it looks very different from the challenges their patients face, it has made me think more about what it means to feel supported, grounded, and cared for — both physically and mentally.

Running this marathon for them feels like a way to connect something personal to something larger than myself. It gives this experience a deeper sense of purpose, and a reminder that taking care of ourselves, body and mind, isn’t just personal, it’s something that matters at a much broader level.
